I have to use an external keyboard on my Macbook and I somehow have to use the 'Insert' key above my arrow keys. I already did some research and found out that there is a way around with using fn+0 on the numpad but that's not what I am looking for.
A few weeks ago we discussed disable laptop keyboard. Mainly when build-in keyboard stop functioning or user want to use USB keyboard than in this case user want to disable the built-in keyboard.
However, it’s not necessary if you want to use the external keyboard you can easily use it without disabling the built-in keyboard in Windows and Mac OS X.
Sometimes due to MacBook keyboard cleaning some key button stop working and you’ve to purchase an external new MacBook keyboard.
But before plug-in the external apple keyboard you’ve to disable the built-in keyboard on your Mac OS X computer.
There appropriate methods from which you can easily turn off keyboard on MacBook.
Disabling Macbook Keyboard Using Shortcut Key
There is a shortcut key from which you can temporarily disable the MacBook keyboard.
( Ctrl + F1 ) to disable keyboard controls
Disabling Mac OS X keyboard Using Script
Using an apple script you can also disable the keyboard on Mac OS X computers. However this some users complain this script doesn’t work for them.
To Disable Keyboard :

sudo kextload /System/Library/Extensions/AppleUSBTopCase.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleUSBTCKeyboard.kext
